Dr. Shahnaz Nia

Hey there! My name is Dr. Nia and I’m so grateful to be apart of such a wonderful team at Railroad Dental Associates. I love helping my patients achieve their full potential when it comes to their oral health. I was initially drawn to dentistry because it lets me apply my passion for art and esthetics in a functional way. I am constantly furthering my knowledge by taking continuing education courses regularly and staying up-to-date on the latest advances in the field. I take pride in the work that I do, and I strive for top notch quality every time.

I grew up in Atlanta, GA and attended Georgia State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a bachelors of science in Biology and minor in Chemistry. I then earned my doctorate from the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University. I started out by practicing dentistry for several years alongside my brother and sister at our family’s dental office in McDonough, Georgia. In 2018, my husband and I relocated to D.C. for his job, which led me to where I am today at Railroad Dental Associates.

My philosophy as your dentist is to be compassionate, always listen to your needs, and make sure you are comfortable through every procedure. I aim to be thorough and detail oriented through every step of your treatment. During my free time, I pursue my passion in oil painting and other visual art mediums. I enjoy the outdoors, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. I look forward to meeting you and helping you meet your dental goals!
