Dr. Kathy Psihas
My name is Dr. Psihas. I first developed a passion for dentistry when I was 8 years old on a routine dental visit to my uncles office (Dr. Batistas!). Ever since then I was hooked! I love helping patients fix their smiles and gain their confidence back. I’m a firm believer in preventative dental care and try to treat every patient as if they were my mother or father.
I was born in New York (go Yankees!) and moved to the Northern Virginia area when I was 11 years old, where I attended George Mason University and obtained a B.S in Biology. After graduating, I attended the University of Pittsburgh where I obtained my dental training. After obtaining my DMD, I moved back to New York to complete a 1 year general practice residency (GPR), where I gained extensive training in implant dentistry, sedation dentistry, as well as cosmetic and esthetic dentistry. Living and practicing in New York was a great experience, one that I am so fortunate to have had, but after many years away from my family, it was time to come home!
Practicing with my uncle has been one of my greatest achievements and I’m so lucky to be able to do something I love alongside the man that inspired me to follow in his footsteps. Being back in Virginia has allowed me to spend more time with my nieces and nephews, and actually watch them grow into little human beings (something I missed out on living in NYC). I love re-exploring the area and being outside in the warm weather. When I’m not working, you can usually find me reading a book, hanging out with my family or traveling.
